Happy New Year from a Winter Wonderland
Happy New Year from my house to yours! The new year has blown in over 16 inches of snow this weekend and Arrow Rock is quite overcome. The large fluffy flakes calmly fell filling branches and rooftops to overflowing. It was quite magical the way it came, calm, with little wind. The moisture is wonderful for future gardens and crops of 2019. However, the weight of all this beauty has taken many branches off the trees in town. Our own redbud, which ushered guests along the boardwalk, succumbed to the storm. Long time residents are disappointed that some of their favorite trees are gone and I understand. With each new year many things and loved ones are ushered out. I miss them and yearn for things to stay as they are. But the new year will allow for new experiences, the making of new friends and new trees planted to replace what was lost. May 2019 bring many “New” occasions for celebrating all that is good in life, along with some quiet moments of reflection and relaxation. Truly, Penny
