Gardening, Sawmills & Covid-19 - Who would have guessed?
Ardee & I hope you are all doing well & staying healthy. These are definitely strange times we are living in and hopefully things improve soon. To that end, we want to hopefully answer some of your questions about a stay at Flint Creek Inn in the near future.
We continue to remain closed as Saline county is a bit of a hot spot currently. We are working with the health department very closely and will keep you informed as to a reopening.
We have implemented a few new Policies for 2020
*No-contact check-in is now available. Call the Inn at least 24 hours ahead of your stay to complete room purchase. The door code will be emailed to you and you may check in after 3:00pm on the day of your stay.
*Early morning coffee and tea will still be made available with disposable cups for those who want them.
*Breakfast will not be served family style throughout 2020 (with the exception of certain groups who want, and don’t mind, eating together).
*Breakfast will be plated into to-go packaging and be available in the upstairs dining room at 8:30am. You have the option to eat in one of our dining rooms or choose one of three open air porches where seating is provided.
*Check-out will remain the same, 10:30am.
*Dinner will be ready for pick-up at 6:00 pm and will be plated into to-go packaging, ready for you to eat wherever you choose.
*Room extras will be kept to a minimum, no extra pillows or throw blankets as everything must be sanitized between guests. We will have extra blankets available upon request.
If you have any questions or concerns, I encourage you to give me (Penny) a call and I will help you to the best of my abilities.
We do not know when other businesses will be open in Arrow Rock, especially restaurants and encourage you to call ahead before planning your trip.
We saw on Facebook that the Lyceum Theatre is not going to open until August 1st. The first three productions of 2020 will be moved to 2021. We will be waiving our $25.00 change fee on any reservation needing moved to next year. We look forward to helping you through this disappointing process and getting your stay transferred to the correct dates for next year.

On a brighter note, Ardee & I have been doing some landscaping and gardening. Growing more herbs and vegetables to serve here at the Inn.
Ardee was able to get permission to bring his sawmill to town and park it on a neighbor’s property that adjoins ours. This has been terrific! He is busy milling wood for a new barn which we hope to start building this fall.
Bonus; I get free mulch for my flowerbed & guests get more firewood for the fire pit.
Yes, it has been a very difficult year for us and for a lot of our customers as well. This pandemic has affected many businesses across the board. Truly, we wish better days for any of you adversely effected by all this.
We will continue to keep trying our best to move forward and make your next visit to Arrow Rock a safe, delicious and enjoyable one!
Truly,
Penny
